About
Arturo was born in Liniers, a peripheral neighborhood of Buenos Aires city, Argentina.
He discovered photography at the age of 12 when his father acquired an Agfa Isolette 6x6 -which he made his own- beginning to take pictures documenting the reality around him in b&w, the only source available at that time, analog of course.
He was the creator of "Fotografía Abierta" (1982), the renowned photographic movement that accompanied the whole cultural uncovering in the years of the return of democracy to Argentina.
Years later, in 1984, with a group of colleagues founded the “CEF” - Centro de Estudios Fotográficos (Center for photography studies). A space for the generation of awareness about the Argentine photography, focused on its promotion and positioning within the framework of artistic manifestations in general around the world.
Passionate dreamer, he is a tremendous enthusiastic of all that he decide to undertake.
